Joint Economic Committee (JEC) of the United States Senate -- 1999 to 2000
The publications below represent a useful sample of the staff reports released by the Joint Economic Committee (JEC) of the United States Congress during the 1999 - 2000 session (106th).   The JEC during this period (Under Senator Connie Mack -- FL-R) was very academic (due both to the direction given to the committee by Senator Mack and and the leadership of the Chief Economist at the time, Professor James Gwartney -- Florida State University).  As such a result, the works of the various economists who labored there in this period are equally as useful in policy-maker conference rooms as it is in the classroom -- even today, nearly 10 years later.

Dr. Chuck Skipton was "in residence" as a staff economist from June 1999 to December 2000.  Though some of the publications listed below were produced through a disseminated staff effort, many were worked (almost exclusively) by particular economists; primary authors are listed beside each piece.

Note:
This sample includes only a portion of the majority reports from the Senate side of the committee. Other publications from this group are available upon request.  Each of these publications are public record. This site is independently operated and does necessarily not represent the opinions of the current chairman of the Joint Economic  Committee, his staff, or the United States Congress. It is intended soley as an archive.
